Double J stents are effective in the postoperative management of endourological surgery; they also can be used as monotherapy
in obstructive stones and in uronephrosis due to compression of the excretory tract. However, the complications of its use are not
uncommon in daily practice. We present a case where the double J stent fractured spontaneously or at the time of extraction leading
to complications.
